“The programme has made me think more critically about what we do as an arena and why we do it.”
Until now, there has not really been an opportunity to study our industry in this way in Europe. Coming from a small country like Estonia, I also saw the MBT as a chance to develop internationally.
Most of what we know in the arena sector comes from experience. I wanted to connect that experience with a more theoretical understanding of the business.
The programme has made me think more critically about what we do as an arena and why we do it. I am getting better at looking at the whole picture.
Our arena is a small, independent organisation. We do not have the structures or resources of a large arena group, so a lot depends on the people in our small team. The programme has helped me think about how we can bring more structure and intention to the way we work.
For me, conversations and shared assignments with people who already work in the sector may be the most valuable part of the programme. That exchange gives you the chance to look beyond your own organisation and your own way of doing things.
I would recommend the MBT to anyone in the arena sector who wants to challenge their thinking and broaden their view of the industry. You might be happy in your current role, or you might have much bigger ambitions. Either way, there is a lot to gain from taking the time to think beyond your day-to-day work.
And, of course, there is no better way to earn a Master’s degree than like this.
